“Live” from H2O Kent

Our church has not done much in the way of live-streaming worship gatherings. Not before the COVID-19 pandemic, and not during the COVID-19 pandemic, either. There are a lot of reasons for this — and perhaps I’ll take some time to share that context some other time — but let’s just say it boils down to a mix of practical and philosophical considerations.

Anyway, this week we were tasked with hosting Week Two of the H2O Network Summer Intensive. So we waded a bit deeper into the waters of online, asynchronous, broadcast worship and Bible study… And I have to say that I’m really proud of the result! I like the artistic choices that were made in shooting the video. I like the way our band sounded on the recording. And I liked the things that we had to share.

So I thought I’d share it here, for anyone who might want to take a peek. We’re continuing to trust God to lead us into the best ways of practicing Christian community in the midst of a pandemic, and we look forward to continued innovation in the days to come — both for getting through the pandemic and for informing our ministry model long-term, as well. Please keep praying for us!
