Postcard from Hoboken

Hoboken - Benny Tudino's Pizza

The kids cheered as we came within view of the Statue of Liberty in the late afternoon today. We only saw her backside, though.

Seemed appropriate actually, as today was something of a journey through the less-flattering parts of America’s East Coast. All rain and overcast conditions along the broad transportation corridors through Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey. Tonight we’re staying at a Holiday Inn Express in North Bergen, New Jersey.

Even with the less-flattering environs, we’ve still had some good times. Our kids were especially excited to see their cousins on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. For dinner we grabbed pizza from Benny Tudino’s (“The Pizza King of New Jersey”) followed by cannolis and cupcakes from Carlo’s Bake Shop in Hoboken (famous from the TV show “Cake Boss”). Not bad, I say, for New York’s backside. 🙂 Tomorrow, though, we’ll take our bite out of the Big Apple itself!
