Postcard from Waynesboro

Elliot with 2 Monticellos

Travel through Ohio, West Virginia, and the western edge of Virginia went smoothly. A bit of rain off and on — but manageable enough. Today we went to Thomas Jefferson’s “little mountain” home: Monticello. The site surpassed my expectations: intriguing artifacts from the life of an intriguing man presented in a very intriguing and engaging way. All five of us learned a lot and had a lot of fun. On the way back to our hotel afterwards, we drove a little piece of the Blue Ridge Parkway — supposedly one of the most beautiful drives in America. Lovely but not superlative, in our opinion. But maybe we didn’t see the best part. Anyway: still enjoying ourselves… All the best from Waynesboro!
