The Roving Paramedics - Episode 3

July 28th, 2009

All right.  Now we've got Episode 3 of the Roving Paramedics (further explanation of "The Roving Paramedics" is available along with Episode 1).  I had some issues with uploading the video file to YouTube, so this a compressed version of the video -- magnifying some of the issues with visual quality -- but at least you get to see the whole video this way (and not just the first 4:42 of it, like the previous two attempts at the three-hour upload process left it!).

When this video first came out, it was the crowning glory of the Roving Paramedics phenomenon.  We pulled out all the stops for the production -- including cameo appearances by the Poorman family (Jim was the pastor of the church at that time, and they were just expecting their first baby around the time of production), the "Imposters" (an imitation of the BGSU campus "spirit" crew called Sic-Sic, who had actually developed something of a public presence on the campus that winter), and the official mascot of the BGSU athletic department's mascot, Freddy Falcon.  It was awesome... Looking back now, though, I think we may have melded too many pop-culture references (i.e. the fight sequence at the end, including elements of Braveheart, Batman, The Three Stooges, Scooby-Doo, and the BGSU personalities all in one scene) and over-done the production a little bit...

But then again, "overdoing it" was what the Roving Paramedics were all about. :-)

So anyway -- there you have it.   There's just one more piece of the Roving Paramedics era left to post:  the Bloopers and Outtakes Episode (which is actually one of my favorites).  Hopefully I'll have that up in the next few days.  Then, for better or worse, it will be on to other things again... In the meantime, thanks for allowing me this outlet for video nostalgia...
