Amen to that, Eric! I have been thinking lately about the fact that living a life of faith often means putting one foot in front of the other toward what we know we need to do -- even when it's hard and it's certainly not what we *feel* like doing. I love you guys! Glad you'll be back SOON. We'll leave the light on for you ...

Hey Eric, you're right about your friends waiting for you! We miss you and I'm looking forward to seeing you again! Can you send me a (short) email about your arrival? If I can, I might wait for you at the airport, but until I know the exact time I can't guarantee anything though...

Corn, that is a huge memory for me as a young child living in rural Pennsylvania. Sweetcorn with butter and salt...just about the best thing in the world (along with homemade bread fresh out of the oven, of course). If you have time before you leave, eat a few ears for me!

Hey Eric,
Loved the imagery of the corn as I am also in Ohio (I grew up in cincy now live in NE Ohio).

I am reminded that God is dependable just as the corn is every year here. It should be Knee high by the 4th of july and it always is.
I sometimes get ahead of God and assume this will be the first time I cant depend on Him. But he always comes through for me and my family. My faith wavers too much I am afraid

I know it may seem odd to say that God is dependable like corn, but from my country boy roots it makes me feel good to know that God will always be there. Even in the hard times. ( I am a church planter as well)

I and my church will be praying for you and your transition home. Go get some ohio sweet before you leave.

Eric,

I love this picture and your summer's parallel to the growing corn. I can certainly identify with you and your feelings of heading back to Amsterdam. It reminds me again that I am not alone in this journey. I look forward to being reunited with you guys in just a few short weeks--and swapping stories of our American Adventures!!
