I can't say how. I can't say why. But for whatever reason, it seems that I've been "discovered" by the Google empire. Over the last two or three weeks, my daily hit totals have doubled -- with visitors from every corner of the globe apparently finding my site through the Google search engine. The timing kind of coincided with the publication of an article that I wrote for Expatica.com, so I'm wondering if that might have had some kind of affect on Google's site cataloguer (i.e. exposure to a wider audience)... But the truth is that I don't know why Google has discovered me -- but they have.
It's kind of amusing, actually, to notice the search terms that people use to find my site. It seems like I get a lot of referrals from my posts about Sinterklaas and about dating... But there are all kinds of reasons, now, why people find themselves directed to this site. In case you might be interested to see some of the search terms used to access my site, I've copied a recent listing below:

My favorites are the "judgmental christians sin like drugs is worse than gossip" and "the magic of body language in amsterdam." Isn't the internet wonderful? All of this at your fingertips!
I have to admit that even though I've been discovered by this kind of "evil empire" (i.e. Google), I kind of enjoy the extra hits. After all, as one famous internet philosopher once said, "It's all about the stats."
