Getting Better All the Time

January 7th, 2007

BikesOnBikoplein11

A new website is like a toddler -- constantly growing, changing, adapting, improving... It's astonishing, sometimes, to see how quickly they can develop.  As a father of two small children, I have plenty of personal experience regarding this sense of astonishment and wonder.  And now, as the creator (or at least the "co-creator") of a new website, I can affirm the phenomenon in this alternative context for exponential growth as well.

In the last week or so, since this site's "official" launch, there have already been significant leaps forward in its design and functionality.  Many of them are probably invisible to you, the casual visitor to this web space... But there are also a couple of exciting new -- easily visible -- developments that I'd like to point out to you.

To see one of these developments, you can follow the link from the navigation bar above to the Recommended section of the website, where I offer a graphically-based listing of my favorite blogs, along with a sampling of some of my favorite music, books, films, and websites dealing with everything from my roots to life in Amsterdam to spiritual stuff...

Another exciting recent development is the Pictures section of the website (my eternal thanks, by the way, to Will Lafferty for his help in making everything happen!).  Also linked by the navigation bar at the top of each page, you can access this section of the website to see three different sets of pictures, showing a collection of my favorite photographs that I've taken of my family, my church, and the city of Amsterdam.  I'd be interested to hear your feedback regarding this new adaptation to the website -- but I have to admit that I'm very excited about how everything turned out!

So, at any rate, take your time and look around.  I hope you'll like what you'll see... And stay tuned for further developments!
